I want to know about the vacanies available at medical transcription companies in Singapore?
I have completed medical transcription training at Spheris India, a MT company. I want to work in Singapore. I want to know about the MT companies there, vacancies available, how to apply, and also the salary details.
I’ve been looking it over for awhile and decided it’s for me, but haven’t been able to find much on the medical transcription salaries.
I was home based for 13 years and my best year was 36K. It depends on whether you work for a medical facility, a transcription company, or for yourself as a contractor. Tons more about MT on the website below.

Full Medical Transcription Wages Information
My understanding is that you type up doctor’s notes on patients and then they go back to the doctor, but do you contract your services through a company??
I’m interested in the details and the medical transcription average annual salary…
Thanks!
It is usually not written notes you are working from but dictation into a dictaphone. This is played back on a transcription machine (provided by the company you work for) so you can adjust the speed, pause the playback, etc., while you work.
Courses you will need from the community college include medical terminology, transcription, and keyboarding. The medical terminology class is essential.
Once you have those courses, you can talk to instructors at your college about getting in touch with a company or apply at the local hospital. They may want you to work on-site at the hospital before you can work at home.
It’s good money, but varies widely depending on where you live.

What’s the starting medical transcription salary for a part time from home, fresher in medical transcription in india?
Not much, considering the U.S. never outsources to India anymore. So you’d have to speak with companies in India only to find out what they pay.

How much do they make with medical transcription wages? I looked it up on salary.com and it said around 30,000 a year. But I was wanting to know from actual people with experience in it or from people who know people who do it/have done it. Is it a pretty decent income? Is it really 30,000 a year starting?
Thank you so much for your answers!
I was a medical transcriptionist working from home for 13 years. My best year was $36K, but the best part was being able to work around home and family. Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields.
You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there’s a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.
There’s some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings in coding, billing, and transcription. They also have free listings in their directory for transcriptionists.
