I am a medical/legal/general transcriptionist. I am currently sub-contracting, but am not experienced in acute care. My experience is in clinic work. I am currently in U. S. Career Institute, taking classes and will graduate sometime this year with a certificate. However, when applying for work, I find I am over qualified for general transcription or under qualified for medical transcription. Any suggestions?

It takes you the courage to be so much well knowledge to any medical terminologies for you to become Medical Transcription. Actually other is asking for a certification or you must be a certified. There are lots of school offering those certifications that required your ample of your time, there are also online training courses offer on google, if this is a not too much then why not get those certification and asked for a higher salary while working at home.

In every place, there are good institutes these days: they even pay you stipend during training! look out in newspapers for advt's, esp. week-end editions!

It’s a legit career choice; however, you must choose a reputable training program or its a waste of money. Learning MT is not easy, but is worth the effort if you like that type of work. Best wishes to you.
