i used to do that. and i got the job through a friend of the family. your best bet would be to check the local hospitals and see if theres any openings. References :
I do this too and have been for the past 18 years. The only place I know of right now that offers in-home positions is called MAG Mutual Health Care Solutions, Inc. I was employed by them for a short time after they took over the on-site Transcription Department of the clinic where I worked. At that time I wasn’t looking for in-home work so I rather quickly found a on-site position and took it. However, with gas prices being what they are now….I’m in the market for a in-home position again. MAG won’t do re-hires (or didn’t the last time I checked), so if you hear of anyone else available….let me know!!! ;o) and good luck with your search!! References : http://www.magmutual.com
I was a medical transcriptionist working from home for 13 years.
Many companies want experience so there’s a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.
There’s some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings in coding, billing, and transcription.
