It would have helped a lot if you had mentioned where you are located. At present, Spheris is the #1 firm in India, located in Bangalore. Focus is not far behind, though they might have taken over as #1 by now. The #1 tag holds only one thing of interest for the MT, salary!! An MT working at Spheris can earn 20,000 p.m. working the night shift. This average salary is around 15,000. Believe me, there are a few MTs who take home a six figure income!!! . I believe this is the best paying institute in India. However, if you are desirous of working from home, then you have three good options before you. Spheris as I mentioned (but they do not give home transcription to new comers, you would have to spend at least 3 months before getting home transcription), Focus is also a very good option. The third and last option is Accusys, who are a totally home based company. You can access their website for an online test.
