  5. It doesn’t pay very well. Around here (Arkansas and Tennessee) the average is 25,000 annually before taxes.
    medical Transcriptionists always have work and a chit load of it. But for the amount of work you will be doing and the time you will have to put in it is not worth it. BUT it will be your decision to make and either regret or be happy.

  7. I was home based for 13 years and my best year was 36K. It depends on whether you work for a medical facility, a transcription company, or for yourself as a contractor.
